» Speak with Duvale.

 Location   Bucie   X   -1612  Y   51  Z   -4963  Wynncraft Map

Dialogue:

  • Duvale: You sir! Yes, you with the small nose, I need your help. I hear you human folk are always on the look out for some dangerous work.
  • Duvale: I recently bought a Guard Golem from the factory I work in that produces them to protect my little village here.
  • Duvale: But when it was activated, it started making strange noises and ran away violently, destroying anything in its way...
  • Duvale: I need you to find it and bring me back [1 Mechanical piece] and [1 Power source].
  • Duvale: It ran into a cave at the top of a small mountain, you can find it by following this road out of the village and up the mountain path, good luck. New Dialogue as of 1.20:
  • Duvale: Oh, you there! I wasn't expecting a human soldier to be but you've come at the perfect time. I could use some help, see.
  • Duvale: I'm certain you know about Guard Golems, yes? They are manufactured here in Gavel and I bought one recently.
  • Duvale: The goblins keep trying to forage in my farms, you see- I needed something to keep them out, and a Golem would have been perfect
  • Duvale: But shortly after I activated it, the thing attacked me! I nearly got killed- It was ramming itself against boulders and walls . . .
  • Duvale: I obviously was sold a defective model... That golem is a danger to everything around it. Do you think you're up to subduing it?
  • Duvale: It's shed a trail of scrap, as you can see. Please, follow the trail of scrap and keep it from causing anyone anymore damage.

If the player interacts with Duvale at this stage of the quest he will say:

Duvale: That golem is a danger to everything around it. Please, follow the trail of scrap and keep it from causing anyone anymore damage.

Version 1.20

The player can follow the coordinates provided by the quest book or the trail of iron blocks and pressure plates.

The path up the mountain begins at -1658 / 59 / -5086. This path contains Defective Gears and Defective Bolts which while hostile are mostly harmless.

As you walk up the path, you will hear the golem speaking.

Dialogue:

[1/3] ???: ...I am,,, **at's my...n**e...? I had one...

While entering the cave:

[2/3] ???: Re...remember!! **AT IS MY ****? My life?

When continuing into the cave:

[3/3] ???: REMEMBER!! No..no o**ers! No directives!

Stage 3

» Kill the defective Guard Golem and return the parts to Duvale.

Dialogue:

  • Duvale: Ah yes, you brought all the pieces back for repair, wonderful! I can't pay you back what it's worth, but here is a little reward for your troubles.
  • Duvale: I recommend you check out the factory these are made in, it is quite the experience! You'll be needing one of these to get in!
  • Duvale: Just wear that on your head, and the security magic surrounding the factory will allow you in.
  • Duvale: The factory is disguised for legal reasons, so you will have to solve a quick puzzle to gain access to the underground, shouldn't be too much trouble.

Trivia

  • In An Iron Heart Part II, you learn that the golem's defection meant that the golem's soul was still intact and was still governing the host and mind.
