The Festival of the Bonfire is a limited time in-game event that typically runs throughout the summer season, most recently from 11th August through 3rd September, 2023. During this event, players are able to obtain new, exclusive cosmetic items from Bonfire Crates, similarly to the rewards from regular Loot Crates. It is the first festival in the yearly cycle of festivals, preceded by the Festival of the Heroes and usually followed by the Festival of the Spirits.
Three free Bonfire Crates were available to all players from the start of the event, and could be claimed in the Wynncraft Store. Further crates could be obtained in-game by completing Daily Objectives (Tier I crates), and Weekly Objectives for players in a level 10+ Guild (Tier II). A maximum of 30 Bonfire Crates could be obtained for free, while additional crates were available to buy from the Wynncraft Store until the end of the event.
The city of Detlas was also redecorated in celebration of this festival, becoming Bonfire Detlas. A 5v5 minigame, Battle for the Bonfire is also playable as well as a daily scavenger hunt, being the Hearthflame Hunt (though in previous years, it has been the Guiding of the Spirits).
Bonfire Detlas[]

Detlas was redecorated to honor the festival, becoming Bonfire Detlas as a massive bonfire replaces the usual crystal structure in the center of the city where the Item Identifier could be found. The Bonfire Keeper is the main NPC for this festival.
Numerous other NPCs also arrived in Detlas for the festival, including:
- Enzan
- "Carl" (Originally called "Human")
- Troll
- "Kevin" (Originally called Cow)
- Bread Enthusiast
- Corkian Firecracker Vendor
- Dodegar
- Bulbo
- Santa
- Ope, if Supply and Delivery has been completed
- Orikal, if The Corrupted Village has been completed
- Zuett, if All Roads to Peace has been completed
- Garull, if Temple of the Legends has been completed
- Mastro, if From the Bottom has been completed
- Korzim, if Dwarves and Doguns Part IV has been completed
Additionally, some merchants set up shop selling exclusive items, including the Sweets Merchant, the Food Merchant, and the Bread Merchant.
During the 2022 Festival of the Bonfire, The Envoy and The Seer made their return due to the timeframe of this festival overlapping with the usual time for that festival.
Hearthflame Hunt[]

Every day during this event, the Bonfire Keeper would ask of you to bring the hearthflames to various bonfires across all of the cities. Hearthflames are stored on an item called the Hearthkeeper's Staff, and right-clicking it will point towards the nearest bonfire that needs to be lit. However, when a hearthflame is on your staff, you are unable to use Teleportation Scrolls.
For every bonfire lit, you will receive 9
Emerald Blocks. Once the first bonfire is lit, you will be given the Emblem of the Bonfire.

Guiding of the Spirits[]

Coinciding with the Bonfire was also a return of Festival of the Spirits NPCs, The Envoy and The Seer, hosting the Guiding of the Spirits event. Each day during the event, players could seek out spirits throughout the world to disperse and get rewards from The Envoy.
Similar to the Festival of the Spirits, players could collect spirits and return them to The Envoy. This time, the Lantern from Beyond was used to find the spirits. Players received emeralds for every spirit returned, and trinkets after certain increments of spirits have been collected. The trinkets collected were as follows:
- 7 Spirits - Shroud of Darkness
- 14 Spirits - Portable Pumpkin
- 21 Spirits - Bag of Tricks

Battle for the Bonfire[]
Battle for the Bonfire was a minigame that was accessible through the Sunset Valley. It was a 5v5 minigame that was based on capture the flag, and you used various weapons that were scattered across the arena to gain the upper hand over your opponents.
Bonfire Crates[]

All Bonfire rewards are guaranteed to be of Rare tier or higher, including Epic, Godly, and Black Market rewards. Like regular crates, Bonfire Crates are available in Tiers I, II, III and IV. Tier I crates could be obtained from Daily Objectives or by redeeming 3 free ones on the Wynncraft Store, and Tier II crates could be obtained from Weekly Guild Objectives. All tiers of crates could be obtained by purchasing them from the Wynncraft store.
While these crates generally function like normal Loot Crates, note that Bonfire rewards cannot be scrapped together with non-Bonfire rewards.

Trivia[]
- This was the first festival added in Wynncraft. The original 2021 iteration lacked a lot less content than the current iterations, with the only additions being a large bonfire in the center of Detlas, the Bonfire Tender NPC, the
2021 Emblem of the Bonfire, and some new cosmetics. - If you had last logged out in an area where a bonfire would be in Detlas, and then logged back in, a piece of dialogue would play, "The heat of the flames pushes you out of the bonfire." This was likely implemented to avoid anyone getting stuck in a bonfire.
