Festival of the Blizzard

Limited Time Event: This article covers an event that lasted for a limited period of time before ending.
The event's content will no longer be accessible after it has ended, but collectibles and cosmetics earned by the player will persist.

The Festival of the Blizzard is a limited time in-game event that has most recently ran from the 15th December, 2023 to 7th January, 2024. It is the third seasonal festival in the cycle of Wynncraft festivals, preceded by the Festival of the Spirits and followed by the Festival of the Heroes.

During the event, players are able to obtain exclusive cosmetic items and Pets from Blizzard Crates, similarly to the rewards from regular Loot Crates. Three free Blizzard Crates are available to all players from the start of the event, and can be claimed in the Wynncraft Store. Further crates can be obtained in-game by completing Daily Objectives (Tier I crates), and Weekly Objectives for players in a level 10+ Guild (Tier II). A maximum 30 Blizzard Crates can be obtained for free, while additional crates are available to buy from the Wynncraft Store until the end of the event.

In addition to the rewards from Blizzard Crates, a winter storm passed over Detlas, redecorating it for the holiday season as Snow Storm Detlas. The Traveler and Gerald the Yeti could be found by the large Craftmas tree in the center of the city, and the Souvenir Sweater Merchant, Rusty Bartender, a Wynnter Owl, a Craftmas Cracker Vendor, and the Confectionary Merchant, also set up shop; numerous other NPCs from around Wynn Province could be invited to join in the festivities throughout the event. The Festival coincides with the Wynnter Fair, which could be reached by taking the Event Airship Pilot's ship at Detlas Airbase. The 2023 version of this festival also released a new daily objective: The Traveler's Trail.

Snow Storm Detlas[]

Detlas was redecorated to honor this festival, becoming Snow Storm Detlas as a mysterious blizzard appeared over the city. A large Christmas tree replaces the Item Identifier's usual crystal structure in the center of town. The main NPC, The Traveler could also be found in the center of town.

The Traveler's Trail[]

Starting with the 2023 version of this festival, a new daily quest-like system was implemented: The Traveler's Trail. In this, the player must work to help the Traveler regain some of his lost memories. A new memory fragment is unlocked every day, hinted by the Traveler featuring an area on the map.

Recovering memories will grant rewards and Festival Invites. The rewards are as follows:

Festival Invitations[]

Throughout the Festival, players could invite NPCs from throughout Wynncraft to Detlas to join the festivities. An invitation will be received upon helping the Traveler regain a memory. There are five Character Sets which each have five characters that can be invited, and the next set is unlocked after three total NPCs have been invited. The Character Set level ranges and invitation requirements are as follows:

I - Lv. 1-30, Unlocked from the start
II - Lv. 10-40, 3 Invitations
III - Lv. 50-80, 6 Invitations
IV - Lv. 70-100, 9 Invitations
V - Lv. 70-100, 12 Invitations

On each invitation an Unknown NPC will be labeled, with a hint being given for each one. Clicking on an icon will commit the invitation to that NPC, and will thus cause a marker to appear above their head.

In previous years, throughout the Festival, players could invite NPCs from throughout Wynncraft to Detlas to join the festivities. There were 20 invitees in total, and new ones were unlocked every day from the start to a day late in the festival; The Traveler gave hints on where to find possible invitees. Before each NPC agreed to come to the city, a short mini-quest had to be completed for them. The player must also have completed the NPC's respective quest before they could begin their invitation. After arriving, the new NPCs provided new dialogue and extra content.

The first iteration of this festival had the player wait until 25th December, 2021 to receive gifts from the invitees, though in 2022, this changed to where the player could instantly receive the gift upon inviting NPCs to Snow Storm Detlas.

The Traveler will give the player the Emblem of the Blizzard after you have invited Therck and Enzan to Detlas, and the Confectionary Merchant will give the player a Letvus Delight if they ask him if he will participate in the gift-giving.

The player could also give Yahya a Yahya Tree from the Wynnter Fair. He will give the player his gift on the 25th of December, however, unlike all the others.

Wynnter Fair[]

The Wynnter Fair is a collection of minigames hosted in North Lusuco. It can be accessed through Lusuco itself or through the Event Airship. Within the fair are a variety of merchants and minigames. The minigames are as follows:

Pig Puck - A hockey-like game using a pig as a puck. There are two teams, Red and Blue. The team must try to get the puck in the other teams' goal. The first team to 3 points wins.
Parkour - A series of jumps and obstacles that rewards gifts once the end is reached.
Santa Says - A game where Santa will tell the player what they have to do in order for everyone to have a merry Craftmas.
Rotating Games - Two games that rotate every 48 hours. They are:
- Dodge 'Em - One player will serve as the pusher while everyone else is trying to stay on the ice for as long as possible. The pusher pushes icicles by looking at them.
- Thin Ice - A spleef-like game where players will run across a square and try to avoid it melting below them.

Blizzard Crates[]

Blizzard Crates are a new type of crate obtained by doing objectives during the Festival of the Blizzard. There were four ways to obtain them:

All players could redeem 3 Blizzard Crates for free at the Wynncraft Store.
The first Daily Objective completed each day rewarded one Tier I Blizzard Crate (up to 23 total).
Completing a Guild Objective rewarded a Tier II Blizzard Crate (up to 4 total).
Various amounts of Blizzard Crates could also be bought from the store.

Opening Blizzard Crates gave the player cosmetics exclusive to the Festival. These rewards cannot be obtained from regular Crates. You can only scrap Festival of the Blizzard cosmetics with each other Blizzard cosmetics, and the cosmetic that they become will also be a Festival of the Blizzard cosmetic.

Cosmetics can only be obtained from crates purchased in the Wynncraft Store, lime coloured cosmetics are new to the most recent version of this festival.

The Talking Mushroom had two different pieces of dialogue in Detlas during the Festival of the Blizzard.
- The first dialogue can be found in the snow globe that replaces the hourglass above the Potion Merchant.
- The second dialogue can be found when the Yeti is napping by the Trade Market. However, with the 2023 iteration, this is no longer in the game.
The Ancient Wynnic on the Detective Fedora cosmetic reads "SECRET".
There is Ancient Wynnic on the Theorick Hood, but it is just random characters without any meaning whatsoever.
Two pieces of content were not added to future iterations of this festival from the 2021 Festival of the Blizzard, these being some dialogue from the ??? NPC from A Hunter's Calling and some hidden dialogue from The Traveler after showing him the Emblem of the Bonfire and the Emblem of the Spirits. This is likely due to the fact that they referred to the upcoming-at-the-time Festival of the Heroes in an effort to tease it.
Historically in earlier festivals, Yahya would give his gift of the Yahya Sapling after giving him a Yahya Tree from the Wynnter Fair.
Worid's "gift" in the UI for the Wynnter Invitations has quotation marks around it, which points to his con-man like behavior.
