Combat
The Giant Rat is a melee enemy that follows the player and deals damage by coming into contact with them. It has no elemental affinities and uses no abilities.
Drops
The Giant Rat may drop Normal Items, Unidentified Items, Emeralds, Powders, and Potions of Healing.
Location
The Giant Rat can be found in a small Cave in the moat surrounding Ragni, just north of the eastern bridge leading out of the city towards the Emerald Trail. Several smaller level 2 Rats can also be found in this cave, alongside a single Tier 2 [✫✫✫✫] Loot Chest.

Trivia
- The Giant Rat was a level 5 semi-boss silverfish mob that was the miniboss of Thieving Rodents, and it used to drop The Wedding Ring. Due to it having been nigh unkillable at level 2, the Giant Rat has spawned many jokes about it, usually made by Pre-Gavel players. The quest involving the mob was replaced in the 1.17 update, and thus, sadly, the Giant Rat was removed. This resulted in even more jokes in the community regarding the importance of re-adding the giant rat into the game.
- In the 1.18 update, the Giant Rat was added back as a normal mob.
- In the 1.19 update a new boss was introduced named the Colossal Rat as part of the Misadventure on the Sea quest as a reference to the Giant Rat jokes. Giant Rats also appear here, although they are not the same ones you fought in Ragni.
- In the quest, Beyond the Grave, the soul of this Giant Rat can be found.
