[https://wynntils.com/ Wynntils] has an option where you can record your lootruns to follow for next time, however this requires Forge 1.12.2. If you want to do some serious lootrunning, Wynntils is compulsory. Routes made by other players can also be imported.

'''To avoid encountering other people while lootrunning it is strongly advised to join the [https://discord.gg/k8prqGWnuW lootrunning Discord server] to discuss which routes are planned to be looted.'''

A chest's loot is decided by how long the chest has been unopened. A recently opened chest is likely to only have a few emeralds in them, whereas chests that have been untouched for a few hours could potentially have a Mythic or even two. The level of the chest's loot is decided by the mobs surrounding it, or your player level if there are no mobs. There are also level thresholds: in a chest surrounded by level 90 mobs, a chest may contain loot at the level of 86-94.

Overview

Lootrunning is opening Loot Chests that spawn in fixed locations in the Wynncraft Map in a certain path. Loot Chests are distinguished from decorative chests by their particles. Tier 1-2 Loot Chests are often in easily visible places and are outlined by orange critical particles. Tier 3-4 Chests are found deep inside caves or in extremely obscure places, discernable from their white particles. Tier 3-4s are usually on decorative blocks that differ from their surroundings, such as a raised wood platform in a stone cave, or a heap of gold blocks.

Loot

A chest's loot is decided by how long the chest has been unopened. A recently opened chest is likely to only have a few emeralds in them, whereas chests that have been untouched for a few hours could potentially have a Mythic or even two. The level of the chest's loot is decided by the mobs surrounding it, or your player level if there are no mobs. There are also level thresholds: in a chest surrounded by level 90 mobs, a chest may contain loot at the level of 86-94.

Loot can also be affected by Loot Bonus, which increases the amount of items in the chest, and Loot Quality, which increases the quality of items in the chest and is only obtainable from crafted items with the Combat requirement of 100+ to use and Profession level 100+ to craft. Loot Quality and Bonus decreases in effectiveness the more you have, so the optimal amount of Loot Quality is 40 and Loot Bonus is 80. However, most builds have 40 LQ and as much Loot Bonus as you can get.

A Tier 1-2 has optimal loot at 30min-1hr of being unopened, whereas Tier 3-4s have optimal loot at 2-3 hours of being unopened. You can get the following loot from loot chests.

Ingredients

Ingredients ranging from 0-3 stars can be found in Loot Chests.

Potions

Potions such as Health, Mana and Stat potions are obtainable from Loot Chests.

Items

Items ranging from Normal to Mythic are obtainable from Loot Chests. Mythic items are most common in Tier 2 and over, but even with 40 Loot Quality, it can take almost 2000 chests to find one. It is also hard to find a good server to lootrun in since many players will be looting chests.

Powders

Powders ranging from Tier 1-4 can be found in Loot Chests.

Build

Skill points are usually placed to get 105 Intelligence, then Agility and any requirements your weapon has.

The best class for lootrunning is Mage, followed closely by Archer. No other class is anywhere near these two classes for lootrunning. The richest sweats have a build that looks something like this:

Helmet - 9/4 Mana Regen Crafted Helmet

Chestplate - Discoverer

Leggings - 20% Loot Quality Crafted Leggings

Boots - 20% Loot Quality Crafted Leggings

Ring - 2x 8% Loot Quality Rings

Bracelet - Double Vision

Necklace - Any MR/Agil/Jump Height/Walk Speed Bonus

Weapon - Warp

Since most people can't afford such an expensive build, people use something like this:

Helmet - Pelier

Chestplate - Diamond Dust

Leggings - Crafted LQ Leggings

Boots - Crafted LQ Boots

Ring - 2x MR/LQ Rings

Bracelet - Double Vision

Necklace - Any MR/Agil/Jump Height/Walk Speed Bonus

Weapon - Any Loot Bonus
