A helpful video guide to the Quest following the Wiki can be found here.

An oddity began to emerge near Time Valley that had nothing to do with the mysterious gate. A villain of great power was obscuring the natural order. It is said he even made a few creatures extinct just for amusement.

Overview[]

The Lost Sanctuary, subtitled, "Fighting fire with fire...", is a level 24 Dungeon located on the large bridge connecting Elkurn and Time Valley. The dungeons boss is Garoth, a scientist who ventured to the portal, was pushed in and returned corrupted and with his mind twisted. To enter the dungeon the player has to complete the level 21 Dungeon Quest Studying the Corrupt, which tells pieces of Garoths story and ends in the opening of the seal over the Dungeon.

A list of the items you're able to purchase with the rewards from this Dungeon can be found on the Dungeon Merchant page.

Room 1[]

Dialogue:

  • ???: Ahh, good timing. I needed someone to test my defenses.

When you enter the dungeon, there are mobs waiting to fight you. Fight through them until you reach a bridge.

Dialogue:

  • Garoth: I think you know who I am. The second human ever to be liberated by the portal. I now seek to purify this world.

Garoth will destroy the bridge as you try to walk over it.

Dialogue:

  • Garoth: There is still a lot to be done it seems.

You will have to quickly jump over the gaps that are created and get to the end of the bridge before it completely collapses.

Room 2[]

When you enter the second phase, you will have to kill a 'Scared Creeper' and throw its brain into the hopper, the TNT will ignite and it will blow up the door.

You will then have to fight through 3 more rooms, collecting 4, 5, and 6 Creeper Brains in each, respectively. In the fourth room there is a staircase that leads up to the third phase. All TNT in your inventory is cleared after each door, so don't bother trying to save it.

Dialogue:

  • Garoth: I keep a lot of creatures here to conduct my experiments on, to test their vulnerabilities. I can't wait to find yours.

Room 3[]

The third phase is a simple parkour through the treetops. After you beat it, you will have to fight through more mobs in a long room to get to the boss.

Dialogue:

  • Garoth: Species are nothing to me. Thousands of creepers used to live here, I decimated the whole species like it was nothing.

Boss[]

Dialogue:

  • Garoth: Well, looks like I get to finally find out what humans are made of.

For more information on the boss, see the main page Garoth.

This dungeon's boss is Garoth. He has 22800 health and Melee AI. As he charges through the room, he will occasionally breathe fire at you, which may deal notable damage to players around the dungeon's level. The boss is very powerful compared to the rest of the dungeon, though there is a gimmick to defeating it. Garoth's minions, the Creepers, drop Creeper Brains in a similar fashion to the Scared Creepers seen earlier in the dungeon. You must gather 9 Creeper Brains to the middle of the room in order to blow up the floor, revealing a lava pit. After that, you only need to kite Garoth into the lava beneath, which will take him out relatively quickly.

However, killing Garoth manually by attacking him for enough damage to get past his fast-healing similar to villagers', still counts as a win for the player(s).

Trivia[]

  • The Lost Sanctuary and the Eldritch Outlook are the only dungeons in which the recommended level is not a multiple of 9, excluding the Corrupted Dungeons.
  • Garoth claims he is the "second human ever" to be "liberated" by the Nether's influence, since he knew that the Twains fell, it could mean the first human he knew of to be corrupted was either Theorick or Bak'al. It is possible he never knew of the Corrupter of Worlds, since it was in Troms. Another possibility is that he does not see Theorick or the Corrupter of Worlds to be "liberated" like him and Bak'al, as Theorick was trapped underground for centuries trying to fight himself, and the Corrupter of Worlds turned into a mindless killing machine.
  • This dungeon replaced the Animal Dungeon in the 1.14.1 Gameplay Update, and was itself replaced by the Timelost Sanctum as of the 2.0.3 Update.
