Some ingredients have extremely high negative effectiveness, like [[Obelisk Core]], which applies -200% effectiveness to ingredients to the left. This is because reducing an item's effectiveness past 0%, and into the negatives, reverses its effect. Obelisk Core is the more direct example of this as the base 100% minus Obelisk's 200% will become -100% effectiveness, meaning the ingredient will apply its effects but reversed.

Flipping means reversing the effects of the ingredients. Suppose an ingredient has '-1/4s mana steal, +5% main attack damage'. If it's flipped with -200%, since base value is 100%, it will have 100-200 = -100% effect. Meaning it will have '+1/4s mana steal, -5% main attack damage'.

Flipping ingredients has a myriad of purposes, like bypassing skill point requirements and gaining access to the reverse of an existing ingredient. Depending on which meta-ingredients are available in a profession, negative effectiveness may be more prevalent than positive effectiveness, too.

Meta-Ingredients, or ingredients with ingredient effectiveness, are ingredients that change the effectiveness of other ingredients. Some examples are Bob's Tear, Decaying Heart, and Borange Fluff.

Mechanics

  • Ingredient effectiveness does not affect other Meta-Ingredients' ingredient effectiveness.
  • Ingredient effectiveness does not affect durability or duration. It does affect regular identifications and skill point requirements.
  • Ingredient effectiveness is additive.
    • If you have +75% effectiveness and +25% effectiveness on the same ingredient, it will have +100% effectiveness.
  • Ingredient effectiveness always rounds down.
    • If an ingredient with +1/5s Mana Regen is amplified to 150% by +50% effectiveness, it will stay at +1/5s Mana Regen.
    • If an ingredient with -1/5s Mana Regen is amplified to 150% by +50% effectiveness, it will become -2/5s Mana Regen.

Grey: This ingredient will not be affected.
Green: This ingredient's effects will be amplified.
Red: This ingredient's effects will be weakened.
Purple: This ingredient's effects will be reversed.
