DetectiveLorias

  • Detective Lorias: Stand back, human! This is a crime scene, under my authority. I cannot let you inside.
  • Detective Lorias: Although we are in need of some... assistance... and you are fairly experienced, are you not?
  • Detective Lorias: Well, straight to the point... do you think I might be able to hire you as a private investigator?
  • Detective Lorias: To put it bluntly, the owner of this house, Eminar, was murdered a few days ago, and what few leads we had have all gone cold.
  • Detective Lorias: This is acting outside protocol, of course... but if you manage to catch the killer, I'm sure I could pull some strings and pay you for your work!
  • Detective Lorias: I'll make sure no one stops you inside the crime scene. Head inside the house and see if you can find anything helpful.
  • Detective Lorias: My soldiers and I will keep watch outside the house, and make sure you're not disturbed. Be careful in there!

Stage 2[]

» Investigate the crime scene at [-603, 46, -4986] for clues.

There is be a paper on a desk.

  • This half-finished letter seems to be asking for a loan to pay off some kind of debt...

The victims corpse is located in a corner of the house:

  • It looks like the victim's head was somehow detached from his body...

There is a broken window by the victim:

  • It looks like the attacker managed to break in through the window.

There is a painting on a wall in the right corner that is further away.

  • This painting doesn't seem to have much to do with the murder, but it's a nice landscape of Aldorei Valley.

There is a bookshelf located in the right corner that is further away.

  • The victim's book collection seems to be exclusively made up of dimestore romance novels.
Spoiler alert: The hidden text contains spoilers relating to finding the clues.
Follow the blood trail, from the broken window inside the house. There will be a Tattered Letter that can be found.
  • It's a letter addressed to someone called Rohem in House No. 9 of Cinfras. Rohem can be found at -487, -4975 in the Cinfras Inn, House 9.

Rohem

  • Rohem: Ah, a human! A refreshing sight these days. You've come to see me, I presume? What brings you here?
  • Rohem: An investigation!? Eminar? That's... that's absurd. I've done nothing wrong.
  • Rohem: Still, the poor man. Eminar and I were good friends, you know. If it could help find his killer, I may have some information for you... strictly off-record, of course...
  • Rohem: Well. You see, there's an underground gambling den hidden in the city's sewers. Only the elite can get in, and Eminar happened to be a frequent visitor.
  • Rohem: Once, he even brought me along with him.
  • Rohem: Eminar, though, he often tried to cheat the other gamblers. I suppose it was only a matter of time before they had enough; most do not take cheating lightly.
  • Rohem: Back to the point, many of them, including poor Eminar, had a symbol built into the sides of their homes, shaped like a snake. A proof of membership, you could say.
  • Rohem: If you can find it, it will show you the way to get into the sewers. I'm sorry, I would tell you more if I knew more. But good luck with your investigation, sir.

Stage 3[]

» Return to the victim's house at [-592, 45, -4972] to find a snake symbol.

Spoiler alert: The hidden text contains spoilers relating to Murder Mystery.
You can find the snack symbol outside the house at -587, 45, -4986.

Once you find the Snake symbol, right-click it to get the item.

  • Looks like the symbol has something carved in on the back...

The symbol has the number 12 on the back. Go to House 12 in Cinfras at [-491, 47, -5035] and talk to the Barkeeper.

  • The barkeeper takes the snake symbol and examines it for a moment before nodding and giving it back to you.

Follow the barkeeper to the side of the bar. She will flick a lever before gesturing at you to get in.

Stage 4[]

» Find the gamblers in the Cinfras sewers.

The sewers will mostly be parkour until you arrive at several multi-colored doors.

Valimare

  • Valimare: How did ya find us down 'ere? I don't remember you... you're with the police, aren't ya? Here after Eminar, I suppose?
  • Valimare: Yeah, we've 'eard about what happened to him. Murders don't happen every day up there, ya know. And as it happened, I saw Eminar down here, not too long ago...
  • Valimare: Well... as long as I get a guarantee I won't be shut down, I'll help ya. This is a very profitable place, as I'm sure ya might've guessed.
  • Valimare: He was brought down here by his friend one day. Rohem, it was. A fine customer, you understand. Never failed to pay his dues...
  • Valimare: But the day he brought Eminar 'round, though, it got ugly fast. Kept borrowing Rohem's emeralds and losing, till neither of em had anythin' left.
  • Valimare: It was a good day for me, for obvious reasons, don'cha see! But Rohem was furious. Dead drunk, too, but what else is new!
  • Valimare: Neither of 'em has been back since, though in Eminar's case, I can see why! And I hope that's enough for ya, 'cause that's all I got.
  • Valimare: Now get out of 'ere; there's a back exit in the wall over there. Though, if ya ever fancy a game of 'jack, come back'n we'll be happy to serve ya!

Stage 5[]

» Confront Rohem about the murder at house #09 in Cinfras.

  • It seems you better go have a chat with Rohem...

Dialogue:

  • Rohem: Ah... you again! You're back. I see that. I must admit, I did not expect you to return... so soon...
  • Rohem: You really did find your way down there? Oh, that's... excellent... I hope the investigation is going well. Now if you'll just leave me be-
  • Rohem: Valimare? Bah! Why would you trust anything he says? He's a criminal! A scam artist! I mean, I did direct you to him, but...
  • Rohem: He- He's the one you should be arresting. Eminar was a danger to society, got what he deserved, the fool-
  • Rohem: Wait! No! Don't turn me in! Can't you let me finish my drink in peace? Get out, get out, you can't prove anything!
  • Rohem: Besides, have you ever heard of a little thing called evidence? You don't have any proof!
  • Rohem: Now, officer, if you don't have a proper warrant, I expect you to vacate my property immediately!
  • You should look around for clues that tie Rohem to the murder.

Stage 6[]

» Find the murder weapon around Rohem's house at house #09 in Cinfras. There will be several pieces of evidence that hint towards a connection, but don't reveal anything major. Muddy Footprints:

  • There's a trail of muddy footprints leading back into the house.

Dirty Shovel:

  • It's a dirty shovel - it must've been used recently to dig something up.

File:Child(MurderMystery).png

  • Child: Hi! I'm digging a hole in my garden, just like Mr. Rohem did last night!
Spoiler alert: The hidden text contains spoilers relating to finding the murder weapon.
The murder weapon is found in the direction of the muddy footprints leading to the inn. There will be a hole with dirt particles coming off of it. Right-click them to dig up the weapon.

Rohem

  • Rohem: For the last time officer, would you either show me a warrant or get out of my- what are you doing in my garden?!
  • Rohem: A... a hatchet? I don't know what you mean, I- I've never seen that before in my life!
  • Rohem: Gah! Curse you, human! I might be headed to jail, but I can send you straight to hell!

Two Guards and Detective Lorias will appear.
File:Guard(MurderMystery).pngDetectiveLorias

  • Detective Lorias: That's enough, Rohem! Stand down, or the guards will attack.
  • Rohem: Augh! Fine, you've got me. But mark my words, this won't be the last you hear of me, human!
  • Detective Lorias: Whatever you pale-faced walking cowlick. You're headed to Lexdale Penitentiary with a charge of first-class murder. Guards, take him away.

The Guards will then escort Rohem.

  • Detective Lorias: As for you, human, please accept my immense gratitude. We probably wouldn't have caught that rat without you.
  • Detective Lorias: On behalf of the city of Cinfras, please accept these emeralds as compensation for your services. You were a fine detective today!

Trivia[]

  • You can play blackjack in the same room where Valimare is through the Blackjack Dealer.

File:BlackjackDealer.png

  • Blackjack Dealer: Heya there! Fancy a quick game of blackjack?
    • [1] Deal me in.
      • Blackjack Dealer: Alrighty, let's play some blackjack!

You have to enter the amount of emeralds you will bet, from 1 to 64, or you can type cancel to cancel it. If you take too long, you will automatically cancel it. Bet an amount:

      • Blackjack Dealer: Good stuff! Put ya money in the pot and I'll start the deal.
      • [-X emeralds]

After you have your cards dealt, you will have two options. To your left you can hit, while on the right you can stand. If you win, you get double your money back, but if the dealer wins, you lose your money, and in the unlikely odds you get a draw, you get your bet back with nothing extra. Cancelled:

      • Blackjack Dealer: Not feelin' up to playin' right now? No worries, just drop by later!
    • [2] Not today.
      • Blackjack Dealer: Not right now? No worries - come back another time!
    • [3] How do I play?
      • Blackjack Dealer: Ah, new to the game huh? No worries, lemme tell ya all about it!
      • Blackjack Dealer: The rules are simple! I deal two cards face up to ya both face down, and two cards to me, one face up and one face down.
      • Blackjack Dealer: Ya can hit and get another card as many times as ya want, or stand and end ya turn. The aim is to get the value of your hand as close to 21 as possible!
      • Blackjack Dealer: Number cards are worth what they say, all picture cards are worth 10, and an ace can be worth either 1 or 11, whichever works best for ya hand.
      • Blackjack Dealer: Go over 21 and that's it - you're bust! Stand with your current hand and it's my turn to hit or stand to try and beat your hand.
      • Blackjack Dealer: And if ya get a blackjack - that's an ace and a picture card or a ten - ya automatically get double ya money back!
      • Blackjack Dealer: Sound fair enough? Alrighty, just right-click me again to play!
