Swarms were mildly rare occurrences in Wynncraft. Since the Gavel Expansion Update, however, swarms have been removed due to large amounts of server lag produced by them.

When a swarm is going to happen, there will be a chat notification to all players in the server about where and when is it going to happen. When that happens, usually players rush to the specified city and create a party, and then find a camping spot. Some player also 'promote' the swarm at the Wynncraft Lobby. During a swarm, a lot of Invading Zombies attack a certain city. Once the swarm ends (all Invading Zombies are killed), all players inside the city will receive a lot of Experience Points. There will be another chat notification "The Swarm at <city> has been taken care of!"

Tips[]

  • To get more experience you should be in a party with people with a similar level compared to you.
  • Many people die during Swarms, so be careful when being out in the open, or you might die.
  • For low-leveled players and players with bad computers/connection, camping at the place where Zombies can't reach the player is recommended.

Classes Tip[]

Warrior[]

Unless their level is really low, the Warrior class can usually tank the Invading Zombies. If the players level is low, they should try to find a camping spot that's possible to reach using the Charge spell. For example: in Detlas, there's some bookshelves in the Identifier's room in the middle of the city. Use the spell to climb up there and have a fun time camping! If you don't have the Charge spell yet, it's recommended that you don't try to fight; unless you're good enough to dodge every attack from the Iron Swords wielded by the Zombies!

Archers[]

Since swarms only happens in cities, it's nice for Archer to camp at the rooftop by climbing up using the Escape spell. If you can climb up before the swarm comes, you don't have anything to do but shoot every Zombie you see and watch people die! Be noted that if you camp where the Zombies spawns you will get kicked out of the spot and die by a swarm of Zombies. Archers are never recommended to run around shooting Zombies (unless you're very good at archery or your level is high enough to escape death).

Mage[]

Mage is recommended to camp, but the risk of death from running around hunting Zombies isn't as high as Archers since Mage can attack while running and can heal themselves in a tight situation. Mage can also teleport up the roof to flee and heal, which gives an advantage. Another advantage is his primary attack is crowd-control and can attack multiple Zombies in one hit. However, if a Mage suddenly find themself surrounded, the only thing you can only do is to try to push out from the crowd and pray to god you're tough enough UNLESS someone's nice enough to save you. Mage's crowd control still lose Warrior's one, still a Mage can train the Zombies into groups and kill all of them slowly. When doing this, make sure that nothing wrong is going to happen!

Assassin[]

The Assassin class (when level 46+) can shadow-travel, receiving speed, jump boost, strength, resistance, and invisibility. The speed and jump boost can help you find a camping spot, and if you ever fall, the invisibility is there to help you make a quick recovery. Levels 45-, however, will have to have good weapons, armour, and skill. They will usually kill zombies, go invisible, drink a health potion (if low on health), and repeat.

Trivia[]

  • Swarms do not currently exist in wynncraft.
