Dialogue[]

First Conversation[]

  • Troll: Oh hello there. I don't think we've met.
  • Troll: My name is Troll, I'm visiting for the festival. Pretty good, isn't it?
  • Troll: Did you want to talk about something? I'd love to chat, I don't get many chances to talk with people.

Following Conversations[]

  • Troll: Did you want to talk about something? I'd love to chat, I don't get many chances to talk with people.
    • [1] Where are you from?
      • Troll: Oh. Nowhere really, I live in a tower on an isolated island in the ocean.
      • Troll: I don't get many visitors there. Or really any, come to think of it.
      • Troll: That's why I decided to come to the festival, I haven't talked to another person in years.
      • Troll: Er- Not to weird you out or anything. I do like peace and quiet, but after so long, some social interaction is refreshing.
      • Troll: Right- anyway, where I live. My island is just north of Mage Island.
      • Troll: I'd love it if you came for a visit sometime.
    • [2] Why are you called Troll?
      • Troll: ...I didn't have the best parents. I think the name was a mean joke on their part.
      • Troll: Truth be told, I don't think they wanted a son - all they left me was that stupid island and all.
      • Troll: Don't go feeling bad for me though, I've done well with what I have.
      • Troll: I have considered changing the name though. I don't think it exactly encourages visitors...
    • [3] Do you have any stories to tell?
      • Troll: Let's see... Here's one.
      • Troll: I assume an adventurer like yourself would know the captain of the Seaskipper, right? The guy that ferries all sorts of people across the ocean.
      • Troll: He passes by my island all the time, but never stops to visit... Anyway. I managed to flag him down to take me to Nemract for the festival.
      • Troll: But when he picked me up, he asked if I had slain the giant troll that lived in the tower!
      • Troll: I was so taken aback that I didn't actually correct him.
    • [4] What do you think of your roommate at the inn?
      • Troll: Oh, Carl? He's nice enough. Actually, we've gotten along quite well so far.
      • Troll: We have a lot in common. He's also from an island in the ocean, and also seems to be in need of some practice talking to people.
      • Troll: Have I noticed anything strange about him? Well, no. Not really.
      • Troll: He has an interesting accent, sure. And he has some very unusual political opinions about Gavel...
      • Troll: ...But I guess so would I, if I lived that close to Jofash of all places, if the rumors about there are true.
      • Troll: I did catch him going to bed still wearing that long coat of his, which was quite a sight. But- and I'd appreciate if you didn't mention this to anyone...
      • Troll: I don't think Carl is very well to do. I wouldn't be surprised if that coat is the only clothing he owns.
      • Troll: He hasn't wanted to talk much about his home island, I think because there isn't much to tell.
      • Troll: He insists his home is "perfectly normal", and I'm fine to leave the subject there. I don't think you should press him on it.
    • [5] I'm good.
      • Troll: Alright then. If you change your mind, I'll be staying at the inn here for the duration of the Festival.

After Hotfix #6[]

  • Troll: So... Any other questions?

Trivia[]

  • As mentioned in the dialogue, Troll is not actually a troll, but rather a Human.
    • This could be a reference to the term 'trolled,' considering that the Player could have possibly expected a miniboss to be guarding the chest similar to other areas like caves.
  • There is a Tier 3 Loot Chest by Troll, and since there are no mobs nearby, you can get gear scaled by your Combat Level. Very few people visit Troll Tower, so you can expect the loot in this chest to be as good as Tier 3's get.
  • Troll is mentioned in the Seaskipper Captain's dialogue.
