Wynncraft Wiki

Hi Gr4phene, thanks for all your edits, but especially to the WynnIcon/pos template. I had a bit of a fright when I saw you'd stripped almost 12k characters from the list, but I didn't realise that it was case-insensitive - your edit makes a big difference to the size of the list, and also to the time it takes to add new items. Thanks :) Jamdog (talk) 10:17, 21 January 2015 (EST)

It is actually case-sensitive, but I converted the argument to lower case. I think I'll make an overview table of all the icons for easy reference too, but that will take a while. --Gr4phene (talk) 10:22, 21 January 2015 (EST)
I see it now - that just makes so much sense - why I didn't do that the begin with, I don't know... Thanks for making it so much easier :D Jamdog (talk)
Thanks for the appreciation! I like editing templates, so if you need some help, feel free to ask! One thing about the WynnIcon template though, why are there so many different variations for each name? We could just allow one or two names and specify the desired syntax in the documentation. Making a table would of course help a lot with that. Right now, items like Adventurer's Tunic have around 9 different possible spellings, which is not at all necessary. --Gr4phene (talk) 10:54, 21 January 2015 (EST)
I designed it to allow it to be used by all wiki editors, who may have used similar things elsewhere. It therefore attempts to cover various syntax possibilities (no spaces, with a space, using an underscore, with or without apostrophe, etc...) to make it as easy as possible for an editor to get a valid name - different users will do different things.
As for the Relic Letters full text, I copy/pasted the exact text that was given to me by Grian via Skype a couple of hours before relics were released. It was Salted who actually added them to the game, and it seems he may have made some minor edits. Sorry, I may have wrongly assumed my copy of the whole text to be 100% accurate, but this was my reason for changing it all, rather than editing bits. I do have the whole text, including the missing bits, but don't want to put it up until I know a few people have found it in-game. Jamdog (talk) 19:37, 23 January 2015 (EST)
Now all letters except the 7th and 10th have been found, is it possible to find the other two? If not, should the page stay incomplete or will you add the missing parts? Gr4phene (talk) 04:57, 26 January 2015 (EST)

Thanks! GreggZumbari (talk) 17:47, 8 July 2016 (EDT)

Hey Thanks for all your contributions, but I'll be taking the AOS Exam Soon. I'll have time to play on WynnCraft, but can't really edit the wiki. As soon as I finish studying and doing the Exam, I'll come back and try my best to keep up. See you later! Celsonic (talk) 5:04 8 September 2016 (EST)

Yo! You're a cool guy and I just wanted to say hi... so... hi there... this post will self-destruct in 30 seconds (it wont, just delete it.) Also, how do I learn more about templates? I've always wanted to do more, and you look more intelligent than me... AyeItsJosh (talk) 1:37 18 September 2016 (GMT)

Hi and thank you. You can learn more about templates and wiki editing in general in the MediaWiki metawiki. Here are some pages to get you started on template programming: Templates - Magic words - Parser Functions. If you really want to know more, look here: Template manual. But please note that you should be absolutely sure what you're doing when editing templates and especially when creating new templates. If you are unsure about a change you want to make to a template, ask an admin first. --Gr4phene (talk) 20:47, 17 September 2016 (EDT)
Thanks! I will look through all of them tomorrow when my brain starts to actually function. Thanks for the hlep! AyeItsJosh (talk) 1:52 18 September 2016 (GMT)
No problem. Please indent your comments properly with colons, thanks. --Gr4phene (talk) 20:56, 17 September 2016 (EDT)

So, I've been making the icons for the merchants in towns, but i have few questions. I'm doing the icons with its ingame item frames. Should I change that? Like, i can make the weapon merchant a spear, Item Buyer a sword then, and Emerald Merchant an emerald. Which one do you prefer? Also, because the Dungeon Fragments is empty, do you know the item of Charon's Brain (putting the dungeon shop on Ancient Nemract) --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 02:43, 18 September 2016 (EDT)

I'm not sure which item is best, it looks good for now so I'd leave it at that and go over to more urgent problems, like the Boss Altars pages. If I knew the item for Charon's Brain, I would have put it in already, but I haven't got a key for the dungeon yet. --Gr4phene (talk) 04:32, 18 September 2016 (EDT)
No problem now, because there an item frame indicating the boss' shop item. I'm back from vac, so more more updates and playing :D --RycsWikiAccount (talk) 11:10, 18 September 2016 (EDT)
